The rules regarding physician supervision of radiation oncology services have been a recent topic of discussion among physicians in our field.

I first heard about this topic as a resident through a vague story of another doctor getting caught up in legal trouble related to supervision. Turns out the tale was loosely based on a true story, but many of the details were incorrect.

Years later, radiation oncology “leadership” weaved their own fable about supervision.
